Wireless access is available over most of Tate Lab. We continue to add coverage as needed (let us know if the signal is poor in a particular area). Most of the building now supports 802.11a and 802.11b/g wireless standards.
If your computer gives you a choice of wireless networks to connect to, you should choose “Physics”.
No network registration is required; instead you simply “log in” to the wireless network when you first connect to it. Until you do this, you will be unable to access any service other than the network login web page.
Your access is kept open until you disconnect from the wireless network for 10-15 minutes.
If you do not have a Physics, or University internet (X.500) account, see our Guest Network Access page.
If you would like to help test our new WPA wireless network, please read this page.
