            <description>All University-owned laptops (that is, laptops purchased with either departmental or grant funds) should be secured with cable locks when appropriate.

They should also be identified with STOP! security plates. These are metal tags with serial numbers affixed to the laptop case. If the plate is removed, the case is permanently marked with a “tattoo” identifying the laptop as stolen property.</description>
