On the call today: Brendan * Calibration sims * FSL sims Some plots on far sidelobe simulations from Karl * A reminder of what a cut through the sidelobes looks like: {{:systematicswg:telecons:2018-10-01:pol_xy_corrected_far_sidelobe_cuts_phi_0.png?direct&200|sidelobe cut grasp}} {{:systematicswg:telecons:2018-10-01:fullsky_lores_cartview.png?direct&200|fullsky 1 deg pixels from GRASP}} * Running this through the Planck LevelS pipeline and Andrea's sims gave a difference map of: {{:systematicswg:telecons:2018-10-01:diff_map_l90_m20.png?direct&200|diff map l=90, m=20}} * In retrospect this was obviously wrong as the pipeline tried to reconstruct the sidelobes using alms with lmax=90, m_max=20. The largest sidelobe is a few degrees in width, so this doesn't work well. Additionally the main beam is 6 arcmin but GRASP pixels were 1 deg, probably this creates the ringing. * Using a higher resolution input map dtheta = 0.035, dphi = 0.5 and lmax=4000, m_max=720 (beyond the map resolution) still fails to recontruct the sidelobes. {{:systematicswg:telecons:2018-10-01:pico_beam_2deg_centermask_l4000_m720_cartview.png?direct&200|cartview, 20x20 deg}} {{:systematicswg:telecons:2018-10-01:pico_beam_2deg_centermask_l4000_m720_mollview.png?direct&200|mollview }} {{:systematicswg:telecons:2018-10-01:cartview_temp.png?direct&200|}} * a 1D cut built using alms with m=0 terms only. center 2 deg masked out. Some error exists {{:systematicswg:telecons:2018-10-01:centermask60px_hires_beam_l4000_m0_from_alms_zoom_log.png?direct&200|m=0 only, centermask 2 deg}}
