Planning for PICO and Complementarity with Ground Workshop in the spring (Shaul)
Organize now that there is a instrument baseline.
Science talks by the various WGs, invite broad community aslo.
How do we include the ground based community?
Date: Was plan to coordinate with an S4 meeting. S4 is planning a 2-3 day March meeting, Shaul didn't hear strong enthusiam for coordination. Combining both may be a challenge.
Planned PICO dates, late April - early May.
S4 meeting is governance and tech development.
Julian: case for conjoined workshops is decreasing.
Shaul: Each WG put forward a spokesperson for group's science topics. Complemenarity with ground would be additional speaker.
Is a workshop useful?
Jim: Yes. Disucssions useful.
Lloyd: what is extragalactic complementarity?
Jim: should be significant. PICO gives higher frequencies. Complementarity could be developed.
Shaul: Pre-workshop groundwork?
Jim: yes. To develop context, get ground sensitivities, calculate gain from PICO frequencies.
Lloyd: modeling extragalactic sky workshop, Jan 10-12th. Some of the work to connect PICO and ground could be then.
Shaul: Can Dave/Raphael compile names of people to present science case?
Yes (Dave), Yes(Raphael).
Shaul: Idea, science group leaders help organize. Shaul can lead.
??Lloyd??: yes, can help.
Known conflicts?
April APS meeting, 14-17th of April
Nick in Paris end of April - end of May. Notify him of scheduling soon.
What about other communities to include?
Galactic (Dave, Laura)
Others? PICO will create a legacy archive. Should invite those who will utilize it.
Jim: Important to increase visibility to non-CMB scienctists. Extragalactic has some of these connections.
Dave: Will ping EG group about connections to other ideas
Locations?
Julian: Cheap. Easy flights and cheap accomidation.
Shaul: Minnesota can host, but doesn't need to. Anyone can volunteer.
Jim: Caltech, Pasendena?
Shaul: LiteBIRD and foregrounds workshop in California. Geographic balance would be nice.
Jim: Can talk with David Spurtle about Flatiron institute in NY. Shaul/Julian: NY is expensive, but maybe Flatiron can subsidize? Jim: Will ask.
Shaul will start planning, begin putting together speaker list.
will form smaller committee. Expect emails from Shaul.
want skeleton program in short term so this can be announced.
