    1. Primary function: Materials screening to determine amount, type, and position of radioactive surface contaminants
    2. Temporary and permanent storage: storage of materials to be screened and calibration samples in clean, radon-free environment, storage of gas consumables for detectors
    3. Sample and detector handling: Clean room with class 10,000, liquid nitrogen, load/lock system, sample preparation including assay materials
    4. Jigs, fixtures, scaffolds, etc. necessary: Jigs for sample preparation; lifting system to open and close the shielding around the counting stations. Lab fixtures: light-duty; power, lights, laboratory casework, communications (phone/computer), standard wall coverings, 10 kW of clean power (UPS?), air monitoring for certain gases
    5. E & O activities: daily (emergency 24/7); Utilities: air, water, heat/cooling, light, communications, commercial drains, chemical drain/disposal path, liquid nitrogen, humidity control; Radon free air; Temperature; humidity control.
