Also, I don't know if this fits in anywhere but I am collaborating with Philippe Collon at Notre Dame on some AMS measurements of potassium levels in rope fibers and acrylic samples for SNO+. (As a matter of fact we are both at ISU today to discuss things.) I would like to build a setup in a clean room for preparing samples for AMS testing. Recent literature suggests AMS may be more sensitive than ICPMS for 40K. So far we only have relative measurements, we plan to run with a known standard in the spring for absolute measurements.
We also discussed a post-doc for me, and also handling the training of operators for the facility. I don't think I've mentioned it to you but we are tentatively discussing BHSU providing some sort of support for radiation licensing, which I assume would also entail some sort of training for users.
