This is an old revision of the document!

Agenda for May 27, 2010

Cost and Schedule

  • New Plan - Understand that Module ready by 2017 ⇒ no screening until 2019
    • Procure and deploy screeners early as part of DULBCF
    • Build up staff and screen 2011 - 2019
    • Create integration of Davis, LBL, Soudan with a surface facility at USD (Keenan head)
    • Need more money for this! Need Plan - Physics Frontier Center?
    • Move already bought screeners into FAARM - schedule moves for uninterrupted screening

(except one very sensitive screener will move early and monitor all activities, including tank fill)

  • FAARM is the active shielding, infrastructure, and immersion tank
  • Any other specialty screeners (what about radon emanation? early or late?)
  • Reflect this new plan in Microsoft Project (Lee Petersen)

Working Group Reports (see jobs below for reference)

Water Shield

Make it real, talk to companies, do the engineering e.g.
  • New Acrylic Companies contacted
  • Outer tank engineering
Develop infrastructure into shield (ductwork, electrical etc)

Screener Group

Work with Yuen-Dat to compile results of survey
Define parameters of shielding and common elements between screeners
Plan for screening at Sanford and schedule of installation and move

Immersion Tank

Continue cost and schedule for CTF
compile relevant sections of survey (poll community about the functionality of the ultra sensitive screener)

Characterization

short term plans for this summer
  • Mid-July for 2 weeks for undergrads from U Minn, SD, BHSU
  • Radon survey
  • Geographic survey
  • Need place to stay - who will find that?
long term plans for neutron work - neutron detectors at Soudan?
