====== Terminations or serious changes in the conditions of employment ======

**Terminations or serious changes in the conditions of employment which are not mutually agreeable to both parties shall be made only for stated cause and given to the appointee in writing. Acceptable causes for such action by the School of Physics and Astronomy shall consist of:**

  * Unsatisfactory performance of duties (see [[graduate_handbook:ta_expectations:performance_evaluation|Performance and Evaluation]]).

  * Unsatisfactory progress toward a graduate degree, as specified in [[graduate_handbook:ta_expectations:performance_evaluation|Performance and Evaluation]]
