Homestake meeting minutes, 09/18/14 Attending: Gary, Noah, Tanner, Vuk, Victor, Pat, Riccardo, Shivaraj Homestake wiki: https://zzz.physics.umn.edu/groups/homestake/home Our agenda: 1) Homestake visit (Vuk): Sep 21-27. Rough plan: Pat and Gary work on surface stations, Tanner works with Jamey on the GPS antenna and potentially on GPS transceivers (if they arrive on time), the rest work on the underground stations starting at 4850. May try to re-arrange the students so that everyone has a chance to see both underground and surface stations. On Wed evening, we should reassess the situation and plan for the last two days. No underground access on Friday. Wed will do Riolite ridge site, Thu will visit the highschool and talk to the classes. Much purchasing (materials, supplies) done, may do some more on Sunday afternoon in Rapid City, if necessary. 2) UMN test setup (Tanner): Working on trying to stream the digitizer to the main computer. Antelope software is fairly complex, takes some time. Gary: could help with this during the trip, have much experience with setting up configuration files etc. 3) Analysis of existing data - Estimation algorithms (Noah): working on setting up the recovery code for Rayleigh waves, debugging. Question: how to make a broadband Rayleigh field? Victor/Gary/Vuk: probably easiest to define the data in frequency domain, where each frequency bin could be given an appropriate phase, then Fourier transform to time domain.
