Homestake Meeting Minutes, 08/24/17

Agenda:

  * Next Meeting: Vuk will do a doodle poll, but Wed 11am central seems good.
  * Data analysis topics
    * Data corrections, frame production (Gary/Daniel/Pat)
      * Daniel: timing hiccups from last week, timing off by 1/4 of a second especially when a station is reset.
        * Daniel made a list of all times that are questionable, will try to see how this correlates with time channels. There are of order 30-40 glitches in different stations, but they may correlate with times when timing channels were known to be bad. 
      * Is IRIS data updated? Daniel checked, does not look updated... Will check with Gary how to proceed.
    * Event catalog (Gary/Ross)

      * Estimation of Newtonian noise at different depths, will present some of it at the LIGO-Virgo collaboration meeting next week. 
    * Parameter estimation for Rayleigh and Love (Pat)

    * Velocity from noise correlations (Daniel)

    * Parameter estimation for the Rayleigh and Love eigenfunctions (amplitude vs depth dependence).

      * Novel, but maybe insufficient for a publication. Could use the eigenfunction measurement for Rayleigh and assume something about Rayleigh field to make preliminary estimates of the Newtonian noise.
