These screenshots were taken using Outlook Express 6 on Windows XP. We recommend not using Outlook or Outlook Express, as they are highly susceptible to virus infection. Use Thunderbird instead.
If you insist on using Outlook Express, under the “Tools” menu, choose “Accounts…”, and click on the “Mail” tab. Choose your mail account, and click the “Properties” button.
In the mail account properties “Servers” tab, do not select “Secure Password Authentication” - this is not what we want. Instead, go to the “Advanced” tab, and check the box “This server requires a secure connection (SSL)”.
