Here is some information about how the department will support you if you want to go to a conference, workshop, etc.
Graduate students who have been accepted as speakers or for a poster presenters at a conference or the APS meeting (or equivalent meeting).
The department will pay half of your expenses, up to $600 per trip, with a career total of no more than $1200.
As many times as you want as long as the total does not exceed $1200.
1) Travel awards will be awarded as lump-sum travel fellowships. Students must submit a formal request to the Director of Graduate Studies (Yuichi Kubota) with a copy to Judy Soine in 145 Physics. Requests shall be in the form of an abstract and estimated budget and if approved, the student will receive a fellowship not to exceed $600 or half of the total estimated cost of the trip, whichever is less.
2) Students are limited to $1,200 lifetime and $600 per trip.
3) Student advisers are limited to two student-trips per year and a maximum of $1,200.
4) Students must be enrolled in the Physics Graduate Program.
When you get back from the trip, ask Shelley how to proceed with your reimbursement. Bear in mind before you leave on your trip that you will need to save receipts equivalent to the amount you are seeking.
