Folders: Organizing your Mail

Normally, all your mail arrives in a folder called INBOX, where it remains until you either delete it or move it elsewhere.

To avoid having all your mail staying forever in your INBOX, it&#039;s a good idea to move read messages into folders, where you can group them together according to your organizational whim.</description>

Offline IMAP

You can use your IMAP mail program in “offline” mode, to keep access to your messages without being connected to the internet. This is the best setting for home or laptop users, where you may have only an occasional modem connection.</description>

Shared Mail folders

The email system lets you share access to mail folders with other people.

In addition, we can create specific shared mailboxes which have their own email address, for special purposes such as workshops, conferences, etc. You access the mailbox using your regular physics mail account, rather than having a separate username and password.</description>
