• S4 Meeting Complementarity with balloons and space
  • Chart the space landscape: Active - LiteBIRD, PICO, Bharat; Inactive - PIXIE, CORE
  • Review the essence of LiteBIRD and PICO and their science goals
  • Review the key overlap/complementarity between space + ground: large angular scales (tau, r), frequency bands (component separation). In \ell space: 'Lensing' and delensing is the overlap area. (Note: the lensing signal may be affected by foregrounds - not clear at which resolution one needs the full frequency coverage.)
    • are there specific examples for how space/ground are complementary?

  • Dan will contribute 2.1 by next week.
  • Should we include 'feedback' in the STM? SH will discuss with Colin+Nick at the S4 meeting
  • If we exclude from STM, we will still include in text. Need text and forecasts.
  • Colin estimates 2 weeks for text, 2-4 weeks for detailed forecasts
  • Lensing - contact Alex Van Engelen
  • Discussion between Jacques and Marcel about running forecasts for PICO. Need to follow up.
• Discussion about Complementarity talk
  • SH wants to give examples of complementarity, not concentrate on space “is better”.
  • Dan points out that 'sky coverage' is not just an issue of low \ell. It is also an issue of mode counting.
  • PICO can clean foregrounds for delensing, and for sz science.
  • Colin will make a slide for Shaul.
