Ragnhild shows
recent work on model 90.91. Reminder: Ragnhild reported that when she used 90.92 she identified excess power at low \ell; so she is attempting to use a simpler model. 90.92 has two dust spectra; 90.91 has a single dust spectrum.
Slide 3 (bottom panel) shows the difference between input CMB and reconstructed CMB. Large scale synchrotron is clearly visible.
Slide 4 shows maps of chi^2. There are areas of high excess, which implies that Ragnhild may need to adjust the area of the mask, and/or futz some more with the fitting.
Hans-Kristian says that are also point sources in the map, which may contribute to high chi^2.
Slide 5 is the power spectrum for r=0.003 (one realization). The comparison of orange (reconstructed) to red (original CMB) shows that the reconstruction is reasonable. There is some hint of excess power at \ell=10. Each run is only 1.5 minute, so it is easy to do many realizations.
Slide 6 discusses next steps. HK points out that there is significant work in optimizing the parameters of the model that is being fit to the foregrounds, so we shouldn't be discouraged by the existence of large scale synchrotron. It can likely be improved.
