=== Notes (Mathieu) ===

No presentation today. Ragnhild is waiting for the new PICO sims by Clem to update the Commander results. Ragnhild reported on the status of email discussions with Clem about new PICO simulations for Commander: Clem is currently updating the Nside=512 PICO simulations with larger beamsizes (20') across the frequency bands in order to overcome the technical issues (non bandwidth-limited signals and aliasing, etc) that Commander was facing through iterative spherical harmonic transforms back and forth. New Clem's simulations will still be with white noise, but the alm noise will be pushed up to lmax=4*Nside instead of 3*Nside. The new simulations by Clem should be available to Ragnhild very soon according to email exchanges with Clem. Simulations with 1/f noise from Reijo will be considered later in a second round.

Charles Lawrence reminded the importance of having high-resolution synchrotron osbervations at low frequency for accurate detection of r, because non-Gaussian fluctuations of synchrotron at small angular scales could impact the spectral properties of synchrotron towards larger angular scales and thus make a critical difference in the detection of very low r~10^-3 - 10^-4 values. Because of the absence of high-fidelity synchrotron observations at high-resolution from the ground, these aspects should be discussed in the PICO paper/project and for the design of future space missions. Charles said that Kris Gorski is making progress on these aspects, in particular on the modeling of non-Gaussianity of synchrotron at small angular scales and the comparison with MHD simulations.
