Our goals
are there any yet unidentified challenges?
give initial cost estimate? Our framework was ~$175M
Note: JPL insists on 30% cost margin; NASA guidelines are 25%.
Engineering Exercise
3 hours/day, Dec. 19-21 total of 9 hours.
~10 engineers (optics, mechanical, system engineering, cost, electronics, cooling, detectors)
Results
Awaiting final results by mid-January. All other comments are preliminary.
No major challenges / show stoppers identified; design is sound.
Cost is close to our framework under specific assumptions for the cooling.
AAS Presentations (next week): one oral + two posters
