  1. Description/Name: The entire clean room area that includes a water shielded section with screeners and ultra-sensitive water tank, but also any clean machine shop, assembly, sample storage which is outside the water shield. Does not include the shared assembly space outside the clean room.
  2. Planned use (be specific):
    1. Primary function: Screening of materials and Protoyping of experimenta to be used in DUSEL experiments
    2. Temporary and permanent storage: temporary radon-free storage of materials awaiting screening,
    3. Sample and detector handling:
    4. Jigs, fixtures, scaffolds, etc. necessary: Specified under subunits PLUS
      • ?? here or under material handling??
      • overhead crane in water shielded room (30 ton)
      • platform and clean room over tank(s)
      • scaffolding to access the water shield and the muon veto
      • stairs and platforms for water tank and shield
    5. E & O activities: Some screening time reserved for outside projects from schools and communities. Projects will need approval from E&O organizers
  3. Occupancy:
    • Steady: 5 mostly in the office space
    • Peak: 30 (check subunits)
  4. Adjacencies (list/distance):
  5. Space size (gsf and/or WxLxH):
  6. Experiment Systems:
  7. Shielding:
  8. Floor load (PSF): Divide into different rooms (water shielded room, water shield itself, clean areas 1st floor, clean areas 2nd floor)
    • Weight of ultra sensitive tank
    • Weight of shielding around the screeners
    • Offices with people and computers
    • Weight of water shield (ouside floor with tank??)
    • Machine shops (machinery)
    • Storage and sample handling containers
  9. Material handling
    • overhead crane (30 ton) - do';t double count
    • Clean fork lift
    • Clean carts
    • 3-4 moveable cranes
    • extension ladders
  10. Finishes (walls/floor/ceiling): cheap and simple?
  11. Casework:
  12. Storage:
  • closets for clothes/bunny suits
  • nitrogen purge cabinets
