Travel Reimbursement Instructions

Reimbursement Information

Once you have received notification of your award and the reimbursement limit, you simply fill out the Reimbursement Form up to the amount allowed, include a copy of the receipts, and send to

  • Jody Kaplan
  • Tate Lab of Physics
  • University of Minnesota
  • 116 Church St SE 55455, USA.

The packet can also be scanned and emailed to kaplan@physics.umn.edu. This is purely a travel enhancement and does not include meal reimbursement. If you have questions about this process, please email Jody Kaplan.

Travel Advances available

In order to minimize the impact on younger researchers, you are welcome to send your reimbursement form for plane tickets immediately following their purchase, rather than after attending the workshop.

Fly America Act

Since these are NSF funds, you can only be reimbursed for tickets associated with an American Carrier for flights in the US, but via the recent Open Skies agreement you can use other carriers for flights in Europe/Australia/Switzerland. Most flights in both countries are associated with each other anyway through alliances, so this rule has really been relaxed.
