Tabular View
Keith has been working on the tabular view but asked James to clarify how to handle the different isotopes. It was suggested that the table always display the isotopes most commonly of interest: Th, U and K. The others could be ordered by the mode.
The search, as it works now, returns document IDs. These IDs are then used to create different views?
Cloudant
We briefly reviewed some of the high-level concerns with hosting the database on Cloudant (i.e. Who will pay for the service, what is the cost, who owns the intellectual property rights, etc.). We noted that several of these concerns have been alleiviated with further investigation.
Despite some of the concerns raised, Cloudant does seem like a good service to use to share and develop the code up to the launch point. The advantage is that it is accessible and does not lock us into a situation where it is difficult to get our data and code out if we want to run it on our own server later.
Other Issues
We briefly discussed what to do with the tags field. James noted that this field was intended to be used to store tags (much like a wiki) that included the experiment or facility which owned the measurement or the archive from which the measurement was taken. We decided that this field could get quite cumbersome and it would be better to break this up into optional fields.
It was noted that we need to be careful not to have too many fields.
