This page will walk you through the configuration of the Thunderbird Email client
This guide is for Thunderbird ESR version 17, you can determine your version from the Help → About Thunderbird Menu
If you do not see the Help menu, press the Alt key, and it should appear.

If this is your first time opening Thunderbird, you may see this pop-up box
Click the box that allows you to skip

In the next pop-up, enter your name, physics email address, and physics account password
Then click 'Continue'

Some information should be filled out automatically
Click 'Manual Config'

The window should change shape to accommodate some additional information.
Verify that the information exactly matches what is in the red box.
Then click 'Done'

Your mail account should now appear in the top left corner
