Mapping a drive in Windows

Windows XP

Open My Computer

Click the Tools menu and then choose Map Network Drive

On the Map Network Drive window, choose the drive the drive letter you would like to map the drive to

In the Folder field, type the name of the network share you want to connect to

For example, to connect to your home directory type \\physics\username

Make sure to check the “Reconnect at logon” box to keep the drive mapped the next time you login

If the network share requires a different username and password than what you logged into Windows with, click the “different user name” link, enter the network share credentials, and click OK

Click Finish

Windows Vista

Open Computer

Click Map Network Drive
