Homestake Meeting, 09/04/14

Our agenda:

1) Next visit to Homestake: Sep 21-27, six people (Gary, Victor, Daniel, Tanner, Pat, Vuk). Rough plan for the first 3 days:

1. Tanner to work with Jamey on GPS system. Not sure if this will happen, transceivers won't reach us by then, maybe we can use the prototypes.
2. Gary and Pat to work on the surface stations.
3. Daniel, Victor, Vuk to work on underground stations: 4850 2-4, 4100-2, 1700-1.
4. Ongoing work on 4850 near 17-ledge, so can't work on the 4850-1. It looks like this will go on until the end of the year, and similar for the remaining 1700 stations.
5. Fiber and many other components have been delivered, foam panels have been delivered.
6. Plan to do some shopping in Minneapolis next week, in preparation for the trip. Will drive from MSP to Homestake, so can take these with us.

2) UMN test setup (Tanner): no news, plan to focus on streamlining data acquisition. If GPS transceiver prototypes can be configured to use lasers instead of LEDs, we will take the Q330s and the seismometer with us to Homestake and try to perform a detailed test of the GPS transmission, operation underground, power consumption etc.

3) Analysis of existing data (Noah): continuing to work on frequency averaging. Also working on a matlab function to measure the extent of the observed spots in recovered maps.
