Map simulations
Full focal plane noise sims: completed, but with reduced number of detectors due to memory issues. Adjusted noise level to match noise level equivalent to full focal plane. All looks reasonable so far. These were originally intended for foreground sims but Clem's sims are being used for now. Can compare the TOAST sims against the Clem sims. See
the logbook. Shaul notes that some of the scan parameters have changed. Andrea plans to use up-to-date setup for future setups.
Action: Andrea to look into implementing arbitrary focal plane shape in toast
Action: Shaul also to follow up with Julian about the focal plane shape
Calibration sims: bug in the rotation of rotation frame of reference map, polarization wrong. Andrea working on a harmonic-space fix. The harmonic-space rotation will be implemented in healpy. ETA for new sims coming a couple of weeks from now.
4pi convolutions (not affected by rotation bug), but small issue being fixed.
Polarization Rotation Calculations
Eric: not much to report relative to last week. The simulations from Karl are quite circular (central location) so there's almost zero big rotation of polarization. Karl created two GRASP sims for horns that are farther off-axis, at a more realistic location for 150
GHz feeds, to see if there's any visible effects. First sim, beam was off-center, there was a 5 arcminute offset. The second contained no data. Eric emailed Karl. Shaul to also follow up.
