Physics IT does not provide direct support for the wireless network; it is provided by the University campus networking group.
Given this, if you have trouble with wireless connectivity you need to contact 1-HELP.
However you can enhance your chances of solving your problem in several ways.
Wired connections in Tate and PAN are provided by Physics computing, not by University networking.
If your computer is registered but you are not getting a connection, then first check for a link light (usually on the network socket of your computer). This will tell us if the jack you are using is active (you could also try another jack, if available).
<note> Identifying data jacks The network jacks in Tate Lab are separate from phone jacks. By default most network jacks are active for use.
Phone and network jacks in Physics/Nanotechnology (PAN) are shared. Each wall-plate generally has 3 jacks in offices, or 4 jacks in labs. We always leave the first jack in a wallplate for phone service, although which wallplate is actually used for this will vary between rooms.
