You can set forwarding from physics email to another email address using MyPhys. This forwarding lets you receive any important messages from physics systems (such as quota warnings) even if you don't have a physics email account. The forwarding address specified here in MyPhys takes precedence over any forwarding specified in the webmail system.
To change your directory forwarding address go to the Physics Account Options page. Enter your Current Physics Password to verify your identity, update your E-mail Forwarding Address, and click Update Account to save your changes.
Filters set up in webmail can provide closer control; for example you could only forward messages from a particular person; or based on otehr criteria. First log into Physics webmail, then
note these directions were written for the squirrelmail webmail system, but the newer roundcube interface is similar
You can forward your University provided Gmail account to your Physics email address through the following process

If you still have an old-style “gophermail” account, you can set up forwarding by visiting http://dirtools.umn.edu - choose “Set Email Forwarding” and enter your preferred email address.
A “vacation” message is sent back to anyone who sends you mail while you are away for any reason. It will only send the reply once to any one person, and it does not reply to mailing lists.
Vacation or out-of-office messages can be set up through the Physics webmail system (as long as you are not forwarding your physics mail elsewhere using MyPhys).
To cancel a vacation message:
